The Canon AE-1 is the infamous 35mm SLR camera which was first released in 1976, it is truly notable due to the fact that it’s sales were huge and it was the first SLR to feature a microprocessor. The AE-1 solidified Canon’s name in the camera market with the introduction of this model and it quickly became one of their best selling cameras. The camera has a built in light meter which you follow the needle in the viewfinder, you can also use the camera with it’s shutter priority automatic setting where you’ll just have to choose your shutter speed and the camera will choose the appropriate aperture. We’d advise the AE-1 to a beginner or intermediate photographer who’s looking for a classic SLR that is really easy to learn to use and will still provide super crisp images.
