Film’s not Dead is delighted to announce, from the 6th of December we will be showing the classic, yet daring work of Paul Hardy Carter. A unique display of his nudes entitled “Boundaries”.

After studying photography at Portsmouth in the early 80s, Paul Hardy Carter turned his back on photography and didn’t pick up a camera again until 2002. He quickly established a technique that suited his vision and set about capturing the world on 35mm black and white film, living and working in many European countries over the next eight years. For the last 3 years Carter has chosen to put his usual street photography on hold to focus solely on the female form. With the mind and tactics of a street photographer using only his Leica, one lens and Kodak Tri-X film he has managed to create a fantastic series of nudes all shot under natural light within natural scenes. The resulting photographs are provocative yet intricate with a profound sense of atmosphere, this is all bound together by his technical nouse to create a beautiful exhibition.

Following the exhibition we will also be hosting workshops taken by the man himself. Participants will learn about pose, direction and also how to use natural light on location. Taking place at the beginning of March.
