Manufactured Landscapes – Edward Burtynsky

Manufactured Landscapes is a stunning featured length documentary on the world and the work of the renowned photographer Edward Burtynsky. It demonstrates Burtynsky working in this difficult situations using a 5×4 camera compiling a number of large scale photographs of manufactured landscapes such as; quarries, dams, working environments in factories. This beautifully shot documentary was filmed entirely ont Super-16mm film. It follows him through China as he travels photographing the effects of the countries industrial revolution. He explores themes that are outside of the normal experience that a tourist would see of a country, he digs into the depths of the countries industry. Edward Burtynsky says, ‘These images function as reflecting pools of our times’.
