‘Here is my latest innovation in Victorian Miniaturization technology. This is the world’s smallest Wetplate camera! (Maybe?) Made it myself out of toothpicks and popsicle sticks! Actualy, 1/32″ plywood and various other wood materials. Takes a 1/2″ square plate.’
Not only does this camera look beautiful but it actual functions as a camera. Made by Kevin Klein who has turned his hobby of miniaturizing Victorian technology, into the world’s smallest wet plate camera, using 1/32-inch plywood and other wood materials. This ‘coin’ sized camera can make incredibly delicate tiny plates which are 1/2-inch square plates, using a simple double convex lens that Klein salvaged from his collections.
Here below are some images of the camera and the actual plate that comes out of this tiny camera.
