Paris Through the Lens of a Pentax 67

Paris, the city of love, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The short film “Paris Through Pentax” displays a new way of seeing this iconic city, through the dreamy waist level finder of the Pentax 67, making you see life in a completely different way.

The film was made by Mathieu Maury and Antoine Pai of a French production/advertising company Maison Carnot. It beautifully conveys the lifestyle of Parisian streets – watching people playing bowls, people kissing under some trees, street dancers, and of course the Eiffel Tower – all framed through the viewfinder of the classic medium format camera. The way the pair where able to document it was by rigging up a Blackmagic pocket camera to the Pentax with some blackened cardboard stuck above it to block out any reflections.

The film is a true testament to the capabilities of the Pentax and what unbelievable clarity can be achieved through it.

Enjoy the trip around Paris!
